Panda Size & Weight

Pandas weigh about 165-300 pounds (which is lighter than a piano) and are about 5.3- 6.2 feet (less than a school bus).

Appearance of a Panda

Pandas have a regular body of a bear, and are black and white. The muzzle, ears, legs, shoulders, and eye patches are all black. Scientists are not sure why these unusual and unique bears are the bold colors, black and white. They think it is so pandas can be camouflaged into their surroundings. The panda's thick furry coat helps keep it warm in the winter and during cold weather.

Pandas Eat A LOT!

Pandas really do eat a LOT.... they eat about 20-30 pounds of bamboo EVERY DAY! They spend 12 hours a day eating... wow, the panda's schedule is like, eat, go to sleep. If a panda does not have 2 different types of bamboo in their habitat, they will starve!
